WATCH: Dog surfing & SUP championships in Poole this weekend

Now in its third year, the UK Dog Surfing & SUP Championships returns for another day of fun canine action on the sandy shores of Branksome Chine Beach, Poole, on 25 July.

Joined by lead sponsors Red Paddle Co, the event features dog SUP racing and solo dog surfing with live music, food and off-water activities.

Visitors can buy tickets to the event and see tandem dog/owner racing on paddleboards and dogs surfing on their own with owners helping onto waves. There will be competition heats and finals throughout day and prizes for style, longest wave, dismount, effort, tricks and most importantly tail wagging!

There will also be an appearance from the first-ever paddleboard ice cream parlour, the brainchild of urban ice cream brand, Northern Bloc. 

There is also dog fancy dress and stalls and activities for visitors. 

The event will be held at Banksome Dene Chine Beach, and begins at 10am.
