What is Neil talking about at the show ?

Boatshed Coalition: A network of brokers and marine companies collaborating to share listings and buyers, enhancing boat sales through wider exposure and shared expertise.

Boatshed Toolbox: A suite of over 50 online tools for brokers, providing resources for managing listings, marketing, customer interactions, and analytics to optimize sales.

Boatshed Traffic & View Calculations
Boatshed tracks overall website traffic using Google Analytics, SimilarWeb, and Boatshed’s internal systems.

SimilarWeb helps us analyze total visits, visitor sources, and engagement trends across the industry.

To calculate views per boat, we use a simple method:

We take the total number of visits to any platform. Then, we divide it by the number of boats listed at that time.

This gives an average number of views per boat, providing a useful benchmark for boat exposure. While it doesn’t reflect individual boat performance precisely, it offers a general indication of how much visibility listings are getting across the site.

Why "Views Per Boat" Should Be a New Metric for All

Standardized Benchmark Across Platforms – By calculating views per boat using total traffic divided by the number of listings, we create a consistent metric that can be compared across different Boatshed sites and external platforms.

Realistic Visibility Assessment – Instead of focusing only on total site visits, this method gives a clearer picture of how much attention each boat is likely receiving, helping brokers and sellers set realistic expectations.

Better Marketing Insights – Tracking this metric over time helps brokers understand trends in buyer interest, optimize pricing strategies, and adjust marketing efforts based on real visibility rather than just raw visitor numbers.

Competitive Edge – Other platforms often focus on total traffic, which can be misleading. By promoting "Views Per Boat" as a key metric, Boatshed sets itself apart as a data-driven brokerage with a focus on real buyer engagement.
