Fri 8 July Walk and Solar Boat Trip
5:30pm / 2.5 hours
Enjoy a 2½ mile (4km) non-stop walk led by our guide from Itchenor to Chichester Marina in Birdham and then take a trip on our solar-powered boat to have a rest and the chance to view the harbour from the water, finishing back at Itchenor. Bring footwear for muddy paths and a picnic and warm clothes for the boat.

Sat 9 July Earth, Air and Water: The Harbour in Textiles
10am / 4 hours
Create a miniature impression in textiles of the harbour landscape, with artist Karen Berry. All equipment and materials provided and frames (15cm x 20cm) to display your work will be available to buy from the artist. Recommended minimum age 10 years.

Tue 12 July Bat Walk
9pm / 2 hours
A walk of up to 2 miles (3km) at nightfall through the marina area, the woods at Salterns Copse and along the old canal, taking time to look out for and listen to bats using bat detector equipment. With Nik Knight, bat conservationist. Bring a torch. Safety briefing 9pm prompt.

Sat 16 July Cans, Cones and Cardinals
11am / 1.5 hours
The usual 1½ hour trip on our solar-powered boat, the Solar Heritage, but with a difference, today we will be looking at the markers and buoys and hearing a bit about what navigation in the harbour involves. This is a fun introductory session and not intended as formal training in navigation.

Wed 20 July Little Cockles: Cuddly Toys Picnic
11am / 1.5 hours
A fun session for families with children up to 5 years old. Today we will be taking the harbour cuddly toys on a short beach walk and making funny faces with strandline finds. We will then have a quick look at the lifeboats before finishing with a picnic on the beach (or indoors if it is raining). Bring a picnic and a small bucket.

Fri 22 July Sunset Walk
7:30pm / 2.5 hours
A 4 mile (6 km) walk from Itchenor with a stop on the shoreline to view the harbour at sunset.
Meet: Harbour Office, Itchenor PO20 7AW. Park in pay and display car park and walk to the Harbour Office by the water.

Sat 23 July Evening Cruise on the Solar Heritage
7pm / 1.5 hours
Departs from Itchenor. Enjoy time onboard the virtually silent Solar Heritage during the most peaceful time of the day. Bring your own picnic and wine if you wish or enjoy a meal at a local pub afterwards.

Tue 26 July Wild Flower Walk
6pm / 2 hours
A walk of up to 1½ miles (3 km) through the National Trust’s sand dune area of East Head at the entrance to Chichester Harbour, taking time to look for and identify wild flowers. With wild flower enthusiast John Arnott. Bring a Wild Flower field guide if you have one. No dogs please.
Fee: £2 for parking, pay on entry machine at car park, donations welcome to Friends of Chichester Harbour and The National Trust.

Thur 28 July Earth, Air and Water: Driftwood Sculpture
10am / 4 hours
Be inspired by Chichester Harbour and the guidance of professional sculptors Ganesh and Elaine Kings to create a work of art with driftwood. Start collecting driftwood now (store it in a dry place). Tools and natural dowling will be available along with extra driftwood and completed sculptures for inspiration. You may like to bring a board upon which to take your sculptures home. Bring a packed lunch.

Terror Sailing Trips
Join us for a 2 hour sailing trip in the vintage oyster boat Terror. Departing from Emsworth this really is a unique experience. No sailing experience is necessary but the skipper and crew will be more than happy for you to help out. Pebbles, Rocks & Shells Coastal Heritage Day
Saturday 30 July
Free Heritage Fun Day at The Spring, Havant. Visit The Spring for a day of seaside related fun including a talk on Seals in the Solent (11am), an illustrated talk on Local Undersea Life (1pm) and a Sandcastle Competition (11am-2pm). Lots more going on including tea with seaside artist Emma Ball and the Conservancy will be there collecting memories and stories for www.mychichesterharbour.co.uk.

Solar Heritage Private Charter
As well as our scheduled public trips, Solar Heritage can be hired for private groups. Why not plan a winter bird watching trip for your community group or an autumn cruise for friends and family.
