Broker's Comments
Boatshed London are delighted to offer this 23m British Barge for sale with London residential mooring in Brentford, West London. Offered in excellent condition and appears to be ready to move straight onboard. This characterful barge makes an excellent floating home with the benefit of a London mooring.
Built in 1956 and initially used by British Waterways as a crane barge on the Aire and Calder canals, the boat was converted into a liveaboard in 2017 and the current owners bought her to London from the NE 7 years ago.
Entering into the large wheelhouse there is a small aft cabin down steps to the right and turning left takes you down into the well equipped galley. There is a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer installed. The wonderful saloon/living area is bright and spacious with a heating stove set in the middle. The stylish bathroom has an electric heads and large shower compartment. In the bow is the master suite with space for a large, free-standing bed.
The mooring at Soaphouse Creek can be transferred to the new owner on successful application to the mooring management. As a guide, current mooring fees are approximately £13,000 pa. A parking space can also be secured for £80 per month. It is essential that prospective buyer must make their own enquiries regarding the mooring before purchase.
