In the pub the other evening, someone was commenting on how much fun the Canal Festivals had been this year and lamenting that the season was nearly over. We have enjoyed Cavalcade, Crick and Rickmansworth - missed the IWA National because of my broken leg. However, I thought I would look up what was left. Saturday 27th August will be more about pop-up events throughout the village; Sunday will feature a farmers’ market, food stalls and a bran dance at 4pm in Jetty Fields; Ban Holiday Monday will feature an all start musical cast in Jetty Fields with Braunston based Big Chill founder Pete Lawrence anchoring the DJ soundtrack, with live sets from The Blockheads and Sheelanangig, plus more to be announced, plus a bar, foodstalls and kids’ activities.

Stourbridge Navigation Trust Open Weekend - Bonded Warehouse

Stourbridge Navigation Trust Open Weekend October 15th & 16th 2011. This year the Trust will be the 28th annual Open Weekend. The event which runs from 10 am until 5 pm on both days will attract well over one hundred boats which will be moored along the historic Stourbridge Canal. There is free admission to the site and there are a number of attractions which include classic vehicles, traction engines, amusements, canal boat trips, fairground organs and a craft fair in the Bonded Warehouse.
