The Classic Channel Regatta takes place from the 25th June to 2nd July 2011 and is a unique event that offers in just one week, a combination of two days racing round the buoys off Dartmouth, two passage races in the Channel and two Round the Island races, one round Ile de Brehat at Paimpol and one round Sark in the Channel Islands.

The regatta has a typically West Country and Breton informality and the full programme of evening entertainment is in keeping with this relaxed atmosphere. (Blazers are banned!).

The regatta takes you to two countries and three of the finest historic ports in the Channel – beautiful Dartmouth in Devon, lively Paimpol in Brittany and wonderful St Peter Port in Guernsey.

Classic yachts launched before the end of 1975 are eligible, including some fibreglass designs, and more recent 'Spirit of Tradition' yachts are eligible.

The number of pre-registered yachts stands at about 60. You can see all the pre-registered yachts we have photos of in the gallery. Amongst the many boats we are looking forward to welcoming to the regatta, we are delighted to have just received a pre-registration from the 1903 gaff cutter Kelpie which cleaned up in the Mediterranean circuit last summer and has been back to Fairlie Restorations this winter for stage two of her major restoration to her original rig and layout. She now has no winches on deck and her owner is hoping to have a crew of twelve for the round the buoys races – so if you have any crew you want to get rid of you know where to send them!

Boatshed Dartmouth are delighted to be one of the sponsors of this classic event. We look forward to seeing many of you on the water!
